A Spanish mortgage is a very good option to take when purchasing a property in Spain. With interest rates at record lows the lenders are still lending 70% LTV with the interest rate below 2% for a variable rate or around 2,5% for a fixed rate. The term can be taken until age 75 or 30 Years
A typical mortgage of €250.000 over 30 years at 2% interest rate would work out at €924 a month.
Also since 2019 when the new mortgage law was introduced in Spain (LCCI) banks now have to pay the associated lending costs (notary, land registry, mortgage deed) which now could make it costs effective to remortgage your Spanish mortgage from one lender to another in order to get a better rate.
